Indeed, Draugr. The albums are great but live versions of my favourite tracks have so far always eclipsed the studio recordings.

Been planning a pilgrimage to the southern and eastern states of the USA and have definitely kept it in mind to fly over when Dax is playing. I can only imagine the earth-shattering power his voice exerts in an intimate venue.
Got to save my heart out, now!

I don't think I have any songs in mind that I'd like to see Dax cover, but it would be awesome as all hell, if he'd get together with Lonesome Wyatt (TPB) or something to collaborate or tour.

I just happened across this site while scouring youtube for new Dax recordings from this tour. I must say, I feel right at home after reading these suggestions. I've already come up with several songs I've long wished he would cover, and admittedly, there are several artists here that may have more suitable songs, but I am simply unaware of them.
Anyways, here are some of my suggestions, some already having been said.

After looking back over this list I kinda realized that there are only a few of these songs I could imagine Dax ACTUALLY covering. Dax has found some of the darkest/most beautiful songs that fit his persona as a musician perfectly, and this list reads more like a list of some of my favorite songs than songs that he would actually whip out. If I had to pick just one, I would go for Long Gone though.

i think dax covers some great songs.  when he's good he's very, very good but when he's bad he's horrid.  
actually the covers he sings that i don't like when he does them aren't really horrid.
