Dax Riggs -- what is he doing?

I mean I don't care if he recently bought an umbrella just someone give me an update on the guy I'm starving.

He got a job as the new singer for tool. To prepare he's waiting a silly amount of time between albums.

Dax is on facebook, tell him to post status updates, even if just pictures of food he's eating.

I guess Dax is done man. I've never seen such a long period of inactivity from him. He's usually at least playing a gig somewhere.

It makes sense though, the economic pressures of getting older and the shitty reality of being on the road and absolutely broke. People gotta save for retirement and shit.

I mean, what other marketable skills does Dax have if being a musician doesn't work out of him? Is he a welder or some shit? Can he gross $50,000 a year or at least enough to get by on his own?

Shit, I work 978 hours a week and can barely survive. In the end, being a musician is still a job, no matter how great your passion. And, at the end of the day, if that job ain't paying the bills, you gotta find some other shit to do.

I like to imagine Dax as a pizza delivery guy when he isn't doing shows.

So that was pretty random.

I know, for a fact, Dax has been recording music. He said about a month ago he had a lot of material recorded....however, I have heard none of it. Since he bought his house in Lafayette I don't know what he does for income or anything without music.

I think he is in a spot where the music he is making isn't sparking with him as it did in the past. Maybe he's searching for a specific sound and hasn't found it. This long with no shows and no albums, is odd. Perhaps it's label issues or something.

Yeah, he could just be burned out. Hopefully we'll hear something soon.

He seems to me like a guy who's very difficult to work with because he's too much of a perfectionist, but I could just be talking out of my ass. I tend to do that.

Does he do local shows at all? I check his tour dates like once a month for my area, NY/NJ/PA and haven't seen anything in awhile

Well I'm glad someone finally answered my damn question.  

I had a horrible thought tonight that Dax had died.  That would be the shit cherry on the top of 2016 for me.  I need Dax to come back now.

I hope so.... I am going through Daks withdrawals. Seriously.

I heard from a couple fans in Lafayette that he's just been hunkered down writing, getting the home studio set up, and recording.

Talked to him earlier and finally got an update... he mentioned that he has 8 songs totally done and is working on the 2nd half now.. all brand new stuff... he also mentioned inspiration from Indian singing and early blues recordings...

So around a song per year, must be good That's awesome
