| Say goodnight to the world was 2010. Hi usual break is about 2 years at most 3 but there is usually an EP or something.
Has he lost his mojo? |

| Dax had made plenty of music that is not officially released so if he wants to he can make a an album or two just from it. Not sure if a new album is worth the trouble for him, he's hardly gonna make any money of it. He might as well tour and sell merch. I'd like a new album though. |

what Maybe you know Dax as a person, or know something I don't but if he doesn't release any studio music, he's going to gain zero fans beyond the niche he took years to construct. His career as a musician will go nowhere if all he plans to do is play the same songs in the same states in the same country for the past 4 years. Hell, all the recent live videos I've seen have paled to his old live shows and any of his albums. His voice is getting worn. He doesn't hit a lot of the notes. I love Dax, I love his music, but he needs to release a new album in which he gives his best. Maybe even his final album. Then he can tour those 4 states for the rest of existence. |

| I don't know Dax or know anything. I just remembered an interview where he says record companies keep all the money anyway ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Abb2vEKI7JA around 5:25), he also says he is not into music because of money Pretty cool interview! He praises the internet, bootlegs and social media, for promoting his music. |

| He told me at the One Eyed Jacks show he's working on it, but it won't probably be coming out until the end of the year to very early next year. |

| He's super busy working on the Acid Bath reunion. Don't worry, the solo album will come soon. |

| Dax is the only one who doesn't want to take part in an Acid bath reunion. |

| I wonder how opposed to it he really is and what his honest reaction was when the idea was seriously tossed his direction. Does he cringe at the idea of it?
I can only imagine how much of a nightmare his solo live shows... or even full band, non-Acid Bath, shows would be from there on out. |

| He has said a few times that there is no way he'd be able to do the heavy songs anymore and that it wouldn't be fair to the fans who'd come to the gigs if they weren't able to do those. He probably wouldn't be interested even if he could still do those vocals anyway. Look at what I started. |

| Sure, the vocals wouldn't be the same, but you can hear the screaming/loudness coming out every once in a while in the lives recordings when he really gets into a set. I'm sure he could do it just fine if he was motivated to do it.
Besides, I'm sure the group would be fine with Sammy doing his thing and covering the screaming end a bit more.
Hearing "Dead Girl!" at shows as it sits is bad enough. |

| I know, right? Dead Girl is excellent, but New Death Sensation is better. |

| I don't mind a long wait for a new album, as long as it's a good album. I'd rather Dax not rush it and make the best album possible. |

I was always under the impression that they disbanded with allot of animosity between them. I mean even the stories you hear from their first years in the porn cinema are always "dax and mike on that side, sammy and jimmy on the other." even their music sounds like they hate each other. |

| If there's one thing that bugs me, it's the complaining over time between albums. I'd much rather an artist stay true to themselves and write what they feel as worthwhile material than a bunch of jerk off bands spewing off albums left and right. I couldn't care less about the time between albums but I do weigh in the time vs. the quality for sure. I concede that Dax's best days are behind him ie. Agents, If this is hell, but if he's gonna take a long time between albums, I do expect some exceptional shit. Dax is versatile as hell and has a certain amount of emotion and "feel" in his voice that I believe he can still produce badass music but I am critical as I am with any music I listen to. I enjoyed "Say GOodnight" but I'm hoping for a step up with the next album. While I am critical, I do acknowledge that it's incredibly difficult to sustain top notch music consistently over time. It's unbelievably difficult to create at the top of your game the longer you do it and I think given the amount of projects and material Dax produced, both live and studio, is just about the best you can ask for in an artist. For fuck sakes, the guy still smokes and drinks and still wails, especially considering his age and time on the scene.
I was actually having a conversation with Kristie about this, and she made a good point, because Dax doesn't tour consistently like a huge band like Pantera or Alice in Chains did, that may have helped him conserve some of his vocal chords even though they're clearly not what they were. Part of Dax's charm is he's much better at smaller and more intimate venues. |

| Reminds me of Lanegan, who went 8 years between solo albums. Then again, he was caught up doing a bunch of collaborative stuff with people.
If Dax decides to make it 8 I'd be cool with it, if the album is as cool as Blues Funeral. |

| Just a note. It's now 6 years since his last album. Might be time to put down that bong and actually record something. |

| Man, mega bump, and exactly how I've been feeling. I miss the shit out of Dax. I see him every time he comes to California, but he hasn't toured in a while.
What I hope is that he has massive creative constipation, and when that immaculate clump of feces finally evacuates his colon, it will be a solid, incredible mass of exceeded expectations. |
